The episode opens with a teacher noticing Akshat looking downcast on his birthday. She gently asks him why he seems so sad, but Akshat stays quiet. Meanwhile, Mangal leaves the school grounds with Pratima, believing the false information that Akshat isn’t at school—completely unaware that her son is still there.
Back home, Sowmya starts to worry about Ishana, who hasn’t returned yet. At that moment, Adit and Kusum arrive. Sowmya gets nervous but hides the truth from them. Adit decides to check on Ishana himself and heads straight to her room, ignoring Sowmya’s attempt to stop him. When he enters, the room is a mess. Ishana, hidden under a blanket, claims she’s having stomach cramps and is resting. Sowmya quickly jumps in and tells Adit she’ll look after her, managing to send him away.
Once alone, Sowmya gets out of bed and sighs, thinking to herself that her father would’ve been furious if he saw her wearing that outfit. She then asks Ishana how she even got into the room. Ishana explains that she climbed through the window using a ladder and cheekily asks if that upset her. Sowmya supports her decision, and Ishana thanks her for helping. Sowmya quietly thinks how heartbroken Mangal would be if she saw her daughter behaving like this.
Elsewhere, Adit tells Sowmya that he hasn’t discussed his latest idea with Kapil yet. He also mentions that he hasn’t met the investor’s representative, but the meeting is scheduled for today—the 16th. As he remembers the date, he also realizes it’s Akshat’s birthday and scolds himself for forgetting. He asks Sowmya why she didn’t remind him. Sowmya casually replies that she forgot because she can’t remember everything. Adit accepts that and says he’ll at least try to cheer Akshat up.
Back at the school, the teacher urges Akshat to join his classmates, who are waiting to cut the birthday cake. Just then, she receives a call from Adit, who asks her to pass the phone to Akshat. Adit wishes him a happy birthday and explains that he can’t come today due to an important meeting but promises to visit during the weekend. Akshat says nothing, returns the phone, and walks away. The teacher informs Adit that the boy left quietly.
Adit later shares with Sowmya that he’s starting to regret sending Akshat to boarding school. He thinks it might be best to bring him back home. Sowmya reminds him that the school fees have already been paid and pulling Akshat out mid-year would ruin his academics. She tells Adit not to be so emotional and instead focus on the upcoming investment meeting, which could fix all their problems. She also offers to send Akshat his favorite toy to make him feel better.
Later, Kapil meets Akshat at school and wishes him a happy birthday. He tells Akshat that he overheard the teacher talking and wanted to make his day special. He speaks to him with warmth and affection, making Akshat smile for the first time. Kapil then asks Akshat to show him around the school and promises to share fun stories with him. The teacher thanks Kapil for lifting Akshat’s spirits and opens up about the emotional challenges the boy is facing due to family problems. Kapil writes down Akshat’s information to help make his birthday even more memorable.
At home, Pratima sees Mangal baking a cake and asks her who it’s for. Mangal says it’s for the kids at the orphanage. Kapil then tells them about the little boy at school who was sad because none of his family showed up for his birthday. Mangal feels deeply touched and decides to visit the boy before her scheduled meeting. Kapil supports the idea and gives her the boy’s class and roll number, though his name on the paper is smudged. Still, Mangal says that’s enough to find him.
When she arrives at the school, Mangal asks the teacher to call the boy from the 5th standard. The teacher agrees but later returns to say the boy doesn’t want to meet anyone. Mangal still insists the teacher give him the cake and gifts. The teacher nods and thanks her. Mangal leaves, still unaware that the boy is actually Akshat.
Inside the school, the teacher gives Akshat the cake and gifts, saying they are from Kapil. Akshat opens the cake box and, seeing what’s inside, is overwhelmed with memories of Mangal. Tears roll down his face as he softly whispers, “Mamma.” At that exact moment, Mangal—just outside—pauses as if she senses something. Feeling a strong pull in her heart, she turns around and starts to walk back toward the school.
