Dushan confides in Lord Shiva that he was granted a boon to remain aware even in death, and he asks Shiva to open his third eye and reduce him to ashes. Despite Devi Parvati’s concern over the pain he might endure, Dushan is resolute—he wishes for his ashes to become a part of Shiva’s worship. Deeply moved by his devotion, Lord Shiva obliges and burns Dushan to ashes, after which Devi Parvati leads an aarti with the ashes as all the devotees join in.
Meanwhile, in Kailash, Ganesh and others sing praises to Mahakaal. Shukracharya acknowledges Dushan’s noble end, remarking that even adversaries can become devoted in the presence of Lord Shiva. Inspired by this, several devotees express their wish for Shiva to accept their ashes after death, and with a heavy heart, he agrees.
Later, Devi Parvati confronts Lord Shiva, accusing him of having once chosen to sacrifice her. Although Shiva offers an apology, Parvati insists that his words do little to soothe her pain. Determined, she embarks on a journey to visit all the Jyotirlingas, declaring that she will not dance with him until her pilgrimage is complete. Touched, Lord Shiva watches as she gently wipes away Dushan’s ashes and departs.
