Lord Shiva announces Dushan must die for murdering innocent people and disrespecting Yamraj. Dushan mocks him, saying attacking a tied-up opponent would make Shiv Shakti look weak. Hearing this, Lord Shiva gives him a weapon to fight fairly. When Devi Parvati frees him, Dushan laughs and attacks.
During the fierce battle, Lord Shiva easily defeats Dushan, who stubbornly refuses to accept defeat. Devi Parvati reminds him no one can overcome Mahadev. After failing repeatedly to land a single blow, Dushan collapses at Devi Parvati’s feet. In a cowardly move, he tries to attack her, but Lord Shiva strikes him down inside the temple.
Watching from afar, Shukracharya and Swarth realize Dushan is doomed. Devotees celebrate with drumbeats and chants while in Kailash, Ganesh and Nandi joyfully play the damru, celebrating justice.
On earth, Lord Shiva’s trishul delivers the final strike, leaving Dushan screaming in pain – shocking Shukracharya and Swarth. Sadashiv praises Lord Shiva as the conqueror of death, declaring him “Mahakaal” and renaming Ujjain as “The City of Mahakaal.” He officially names the Jyotirlinga as “Mahakaleshwar.”
As celestial and earthly voices shout “Har Har Mahadev” and “Victory to Mahakaleshwar,” a wounded Dushan whispers “Mahakaal” before unexpectedly rising again to face Lord Shiva’s wrathful gaze.
